This year I decided to revive making woodblock Christmas cards (I skipped this last year because 2020). This year I chose a hawk image because I wanted something that wasn't a normal Christmas icon, and secondly, my husband and I had seen several hawks around out house. This past summer, I opened the back door to let our doggy outside, and a hawk swooped up right in front of me, and flew up over our house. Birds have a lot of meaning in different cultures, and a hawk can sometimes symbolize protection, leadership or focus.
